Research book, magnifying glass, and globes

For the past 23 years, I have served as principal investigator and senior research administrator at ISTPP. During this time I led a number of interdisciplinary grant awards and project teams. These research initiatives have included biological, physical, and environmental health scientists in collaboration with social, behavioral, and policy scientists. The projects have focused on human systems of risk analysis and decision-making and have been published in top discipline and field journals and university presses. I have mentored both faculty and graduate students in all aspects of these projects, from survey design, field implementation and analysis to preparation of manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.

I am a professor and holder of the Bob Bullock Chair in Government and Public Policy in the Bush School of Government and Public Service. I am Division Head for the Science, Technology and Public Policy Division at the Texas Engineering Experiment Station. I serve as a member of the advisory council for the Center for Transportation Safety and as a member of the advisory board of the Center for Population Health and Aging. I have served in a number of positions at Texas A&M University since 1973, including Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts; Associate Provost for External Affairs; Director of the Institute for Science, Technology and Public Policy; and Executive Associate Dean of the Bush School.
